Preparation
Tools: Have an adjustable wrench or pliers and a roll of plumber's tape (PTFE tape) ready; some products come with adapters and sealing rings.
Compatibility Check: Determine if the faucet outlet has internal or external threads and select the appropriate adapter; standard faucet thread diameters are usually 22mm or 24mm.
Water Shut-off: Close the inlet angle valve under the sink or the main water shut-off valve for the house to prevent spraying during disassembly.
Step-by-Step Installation
Remove Old Parts: Use a wrench to unscrew the existing aerator or filter screen cap counter-clockwise. Clean away any limescale or debris from the connection point and keep the removed parts safe for future use.
Install the Adapter: Wrap plumber's tape 3–5 times around the faucet threads (following the thread direction). Screw on the matching adapter clockwise; tighten by hand until snug, then give it a gentle final turn with a wrench-avoid using excessive force to prevent stripping the threads.
Secure the Filter: Align the filter unit with the adapter and screw it on clockwise until hand-tight. For older, threadless faucets, slip the universal connector directly onto the spout and secure it tightly using the included stainless steel clamp and a screwdriver.
Check for Leaks: Slowly turn on the water supply valve. Wipe all connection points with a dry paper towel to ensure there is no seepage or dripping.
Flush the Filter Cartridge: Run the water for 3–5 minutes after installation to flush out protective fluids, carbon dust, and residual impurities from the cartridge. The filter is ready for normal use once the water runs completely clear and free of foam.
