Housing Materials
Food-grade ABS/APS Plastic:The mainstream choice; heat-resistant up to 80°C, corrosion-resistant, and unlikely to leach harmful substances. Some high-end models use aerospace-grade ABS, which withstands water pressure impacts without bursting.
German Bayer PC Material: Highly transparent, allowing for visual monitoring of the filter cartridge's condition; offers strong impact resistance and meets food-contact safety standards.
Stainless Steel/All-Copper: Typically used in industrial-grade or high-end residential models. 304/316L stainless steel is corrosion-resistant and rust-proof; all-copper fittings provide superior sealing, ensuring durability and preventing leaks over long-term use.
Other Auxiliary Materials: Internal sealing rings are usually made of food-grade silicone, which resists aging in high-temperature, high-humidity environments and effectively prevents leaks.
Core Filter Media (Internal Cartridge)
PP Cotton: The fundamental pre-filtration material; with 5-micron precision, it traps large suspended particles like sediment and rust, serving as the first filtration layer in most composite cartridges.
Activated Carbon:Includes coconut shell activated carbon, catalytic activated carbon, and ACF (Activated Carbon Fiber). These efficiently adsorb residual chlorine, odors, and certain heavy metals; ACF, in particular, offers a larger specific surface area, resulting in faster and more effective adsorption than standard granular carbon.
KDF (Copper-Zinc Alloy): Removes residual chlorine and heavy metals (such as lead and mercury) via electrochemical redox reactions and inhibits bacterial growth; often paired with activated carbon to form a dual-stage filtration system.
Functional Media:Includes Vitamin C cartridges, calcium sulfite balls, nano-mineralization balls, and far-infrared activation balls. These target residual chlorine neutralization and mineral release; some skincare-focused models also incorporate natural plant essential oils.
Ceramic Filter Cartridges: Offer filtration precision down to 5 microns and strong resistance to fouling; some models are washable and reusable, providing a longer service life.
