Core Filtration Stages and Mechanisms
Physical Interception Layer for Large Particles: Typically utilizes filter media such as PP cotton or pleated fibers. As water flows through, large impurities-such as sediment, rust, and insect eggs-that exceed the pore size of the media are trapped on the surface or within the depth of the filter, preventing them from clogging pores or irritating sensitive skin.
Adsorption Layer for Residual Chlorine, Odors, and Discoloration: Centered on high-iodine-value activated carbon or activated carbon fiber (ACF), this layer leverages a rich microporous structure to efficiently remove free residual chlorine, unpleasant odors, and discoloration via physical adsorption. This prevents residual chlorine from volatilizing during hot showers, which could otherwise irritate the respiratory tract or damage the skin's lipid barrier.
Heavy Metal and Micro-pollutant Treatment Layer: Some high-end models feature selective adsorption systems (such as ASA) or ion-exchange resins. Through selective adsorption or ion-exchange reactions, they precisely capture heavy metal ions like lead and cadmium, addressing issues such as dry, frizzy, or damaged hair caused by heavy metal exposure.
Mineral and Water Quality Adjustment Layer:Utilizing natural mineralization and slow-release modules, this layer retains skin-beneficial trace elements-such as zinc, selenium, and metasilicic acid-during purification. It also adjusts the water's pH level to prevent it from becoming overly acidic or soft, ensuring the purified water mimics a gentle, natural water environment that protects the skin barrier.
Auxiliary Functional Designs
Most household shower filters are installed directly in series at the showerhead inlet, relying on tap water pressure to drive the flow through the filter stages; they require no external power and do not significantly reduce water output. Some models integrate hydroelectric power generation modules and filter status indicators, enabling real-time monitoring of filter wear without batteries and providing timely replacement alerts to prevent purification performance from dropping due to filter saturation.
