Determine the baseline schedule based on usage frequency
Typical households (2–3 loads per week): Cleaning every 2–3 months is sufficient; alternatively, aim to clean it after approximately every 10 wash cycles.
High-frequency households (4+ loads per week): Cleaning at least once a month is recommended to prevent rapid lint buildup from clogging the filter.
Low-frequency households (1 load or less per week):Do not exceed a 4–6 month interval between cleanings; in humid regions, this should be shortened to once a month.

Scenarios requiring a significantly shorter cleaning cycle
Households with pets, long-haired individuals, or frequent washing of fuzzy/plush garments:Clean every 2–4 weeks to prevent excessive hair tangling and filter clogging.
Households with infants, toddlers, or members with allergies: Check and clean every 1–2 weeks to minimize skin irritation caused by residual bacteria or dander.
Living in humid or rainy regions:** Dirt is more prone to molding and fermenting on the filter; clean 1–2 weeks earlier than the standard schedule.

Clean immediately if you notice these signs
Don't feel bound by a rigid schedule; if you observe the following, the filter is already clogged and must be cleaned right away:

Washed clothes have visible lint or debris clinging to the surface.
The washing machine drains slowly or displays a drainage error code.
A noticeable musty or sour odor comes from the machine or the washed clothes.
